Food pantry + drive-in theatre

Enfield sits in a food desert. The project responds to that condition: a drive-through food pantry and seasonal drive-in theatre at 14,250 SF, sited to serve a 60-mile radius with dignity built into how the building works.

The drive-through system uses dynamic panels to keep distribution efficient and clear without feeling institutional. A community kitchen, a shopping interior, and gathering spaces alongside the pantry give the building a social dimension beyond food pickup.

The drive-in theatre uses the same parking field as the pantry. The car that brings someone to collect food in the afternoon is the same car that brings them back for a film at night. The vehicle becomes a reason to gather, not just a way to leave.

Help-In Panels placed throughout the building provide support for volunteers and visitors who need it. The project was designed to feel more like civic infrastructure than a charity facility.
